Coronado Paint History:
- Coronado Paint Company was founded in 1957, manufacturing specification coatings for the General Services Administration and the U. S. Defense Department.
- In 1977 Coronado started to provide high performance paints to the professional and residential market through independent paint and decorating dealers.
- In 1981 Coronado was acquired by a French family with a long history for their commitment to paint manufacturing in Europe.
- Coronado expanded its market in 1988 with the acquisition of Negley Paint of San Antonio, Texas.
- The rapid success and growth of Coronado required substantial additional investments, which prompted its sale in 1994 to Wattyl, Limited, an Australian based paint manufacturer.
- In 1996 Coronado acquired Premier Coatings, Inc. of Chicago, Illinois. Coronado is now a national manufacturer of high-quality architectural, industrial maintenance and specialty protective and decorative coatings.
